DISC Profile

What is DISC?

DISC is the world's #1 behavioural assessment, taken by millions of people every year and is estimated to be in use by 75% of Fortune 500 companies. DISC is a very simple yet powerful four-quadrant framework used to articulate the common ways that all human beings tend to behave and communicate.

WHAT DOES DISC MEASURE?

DISC explores the question: HOW do we prefer to behave and communicate?

TTI Success Insights was the first company in the world to computerise the DISC assessment. We are still the only company in the world with a complete reference manual on DISC. Our DISC assessments are comprehensive, research-based and user-friendly to ensure you and your respondents get the best from the experience.

THE DISC REPORT

The TTI Success Insights DISC profile is available in a number of different versions specifically designed for different applications. Our suite includes reports designed for use in recruitment and selection as well as more comprehensive coaching and development reports. Unlike some of the more primitive DISC models, our DISC assessments provide feedback on all four behavioural factors to truly capture how we are unique at a behavioural level and avoid pigeonholing people. The 4 core DISC behaviours measured are:

  • Dominance - How we respond to problems & challenges.
  • Influence - How we respond to people & contact.
  • Steadiness - How we respond to pace & consistency.
  • Compliance - How we respond to procedures & constraints.

Note: The DISC report also includes the Behavioural Hierarchy: 8 sub-behavioural tendencies based on the core four.

DISC Profiles: A MULTI-SCIENCE APPROACH

DISC Profile - Multi–science Behavioural Assessment

As the first company in the world to computerise the DISC assessment, TTI Success Insights has set the tone in the assessment industry for over 30 years, having established a DISC profile that leads the industry in validity and reliability. However, we also recognise that DISC, as a workplace tool, has limits to what it can achieve. With this in mind, the TTISI research team has developed a series of "multi-science" assessments designed to go beyond behaviour and explore other areas of performance.

Why is Multi-Science Important?

When we only have DISC, we only have one perspective to understand people. By combining the DISC profile with the Motivators assessment (known as Talent Insights), we not only have HOW a person behaves, but also WHY they move into action. With this combination, we can understand how two people with a very similar "high D" style can appear so different — it's because their motivators colour how their behaviours manifest. For instance, when someone has a strong "Social" motivator combined with a "high D", the social motivator (a drive to help others and remove conflict) tends to soften some of the D style's characteristics. The multi-science approach produces more meaningful and useful feedback for you and your customers.

Versions of the DISC Profile

The DISC profile is available in a number report versions, each designed to support your initiatives and help you achieve your desired results. All of our tools have been designed with flexibility, practicality and multiple uses in mind. This means you can invest once in the right profile and use it throughout the employee life cycle to maximise your investment. As a single-science report, DISC explores Behavioural Style ONLY. There are four types of reports in the TTI Success Insights DISC series, including:

  • DISC Job Profiles - Providing a validated way to profile the unique positions in any business and determine the "ideal" mix of behaviours for a superior performer. We refer to this as "Position Benchmarking".
  • DISC Selection Profiles - A shortened version of the full job report designed to provide hiring managers with what they need to understand a candidate's behavioural mix.
  • DISC Team Reports - A report designed to explore the behavioural style of a group or team. Using the TTI Success Insights Wheel, this report places up to 20 people into a single report to better understand the collective behavioural style of a group or team.
  • DISC Coaching and Development Reports - A set of reports that comprehensively explores a person's behavioural style. These reports are available in General, Sales and Executive versions.
  • The TTI Success Insights DISC profile is found in all of our multi-science assessments including Talent Insights, Behavioural Intelligence, TriMetrix EQ, TriMetrix ACI, TriMetrix DNA and TriMetrix HD.
